NEW YORK, July 10, 2025 — Novele today announced that its indoor EnergyBoard energy storage system has completed large-scale fire testing, achieving a Level 1 designation. The testing was performed by Intertek.
The test methodology was developed using a combination of requirements and references drawn from the updated UL 9540A draft, CSA/ANSI C800:25 and UL 9540B.
Certification at the component level establishes that the parts are sound. System-level fire testing establishes what happens in the room, which is the question that governs whether a battery can be wall-mounted inside an occupied space. In the Intertek test, conducted on a full EnergyBoard installation, the system self-extinguished within minutes without activating the sprinkler system.
